If you're taking medicines for high blood pressure you shouldn't take Beechams max strength all in one, because the decongestant may make your blood pressure medicine less effective. Each tablet contains 250mg paracetamol, 100mg guaifenesin and 5mg phenylephrine. Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over should take two tablets every four hours as necessary. Do not take more than four doses (eight tablets) in 24 hours. The tablets should be swallowed whole with a drink of water. The effectiveness of the antidote declines sharply after this time. If required the patient should be given intravenous N-acetylcysteine, in line with the established dosage schedule.
