I usually shoot vanilla pics on a plexiglass sheet and man this figure was slippery on that surface. Still, not really the look I want to go for most of the time, so this one will not be utilized a lot. I still like the Masterwork figure a lot, but I can’t deny it looks a little rough and dated compared to the new HasLab Hotness. From his intricate costume to his distinct square irises and that stoic, glowering expression, our hunger for perfection knew no bounds!

Much of the coloring is achieved through colored plastic, but we do get some nice light blue paint hits, which sort of resemble illuminated points that match the actual lights.So much so, former Fantastic Four director Tim Story has said that's something he's looking forward to.

It’s a shame Hasbro couldn’t have included a motion sensor, but that’s no big deal, because activating them is as simple as pressing the circle on his chest. The upper body had this great, bumpy red texture that is highlighted with a wash looks really interesting. Galactus feels somewhat top heavy, so posing him is a bit scary, especially since I’m usually working on tables, so if he tumbles, he’s got a long fall to the ground. This one is definitely the creepier of the two regular faces, but the first one feels more in character to me, and there’s something about the calmer face that makes Galactus seem all the more sinister.

The ratchets on the articulation are extremely tight and you really have to manhandle the figure to get them moving. The elaborate boots also have a moveable piece around the ankle so that the forward ankle hinge isn’t too impeded.Indeed, you can’t even seem to turn them off manually, but rather have to wait for the timer to run out. The hands are super poseable with swivel/hinge at the point where the fingers connect to the hand and hinges on the knuckles. For example, his shirt has the bold blue outlines you see in a Kirby drawing, but within those lines there are even more seems and rivets and designs. Galactus comes with three additional figures (Nova, Silver Surfer, and Morg) two stands, Surfer’s board, a purple energy effect, Morg’s axe, three sets of hands for Surfer (fist, open, and chop) and Nova (grip, open and fist), three face plates, and an alternate head. I did not back HasLab’s Sentinel figure, but from what I’ve seen it had some issues with the articulation holding up the figure’s bulk.
