I’ve never been terribly invested in Yuu and Touko as a couple, not because I don’t like them, or because they shouldn’t be together, but just because this story was always presented to us as a Yuri romance. Y me ha encantado ese vistazo a la profe y su pareja, esa especie de homenaje a las personas mentoras que comparten su experiencia con quienes vienen después al sentirse identificadas por las dudas y las situaciones. So why isn't she ready for Yuu's feelings now that she's sure Yuu really knows who she really is and loves her for real reasons? It highlights some authenticity to their relationship as well as some of the challenges gay and bi people face, worrying that people they meet are only exploring. And the movie resumes, with Yuu and Touko running across town to see each other and finally have their own moment.

And to be honest, I think that extra time processing both helped me to enjoy volume 7 more than I would have otherwise. One of my favorite scenes was early on when Touko tries to strike up a conversation with Yuu, but Yuu wants nothing to do with her. This is a pretty complicated question and WP keeps eating my answer, so I’m going to invite you to come to the online Yuri panel on May 31 (link pending) and I’ll try to answer in more detail. The initial parts of this instalment deal with the fall out from Yuu’s decision and Nanami’s reaction to it and it is an absolute masterclass in storytelling. Bloom into You is a charming love story about two young women who together discover that their dreams of a heart-pounding romance can indeed come true. When Yuu protests that criticism and says she's the same as Maki, he says they aren't playing for the same team. Remember, in the sex-segregated religious schools, girls only have the option to be either madonna or whore and whore is acceptable only within marriage as “mother”. Sayaka finally confesses, expressing to Touko that at first she might have fallen for the version of Touko that she created for others, but even after getting to know her, her feelings stayed the same.

Miyako takes Sayaka on a reconnaissance mission and for the first time, Sayaka gets to talk to someone like her, and see what life can become. I also love the scene at the end of the first chapter in this volume, where Yuu throws herself down on her bed, head buried in her arms, and says: "I just don't know and I guess I probably never will. Y Maki es precioso, me encanta la sutilidad con la que lo han representado y cómo marca las distancias tajantemente con Tu. I "get" why Touko didn't want Yuu getting attached before the play, the whole: "I'm not really me, but my sister, so don't fall in love with a fake pretend thing. The older members of the student council go on a trip, where Touko and Sayaka bond and Sayaka prepares to confess her feelings to Touko. And that does sound a lot like my own 16 year old's stubborn-ness, so it is in keeping with Yuu's character to date as well. Touko joins a local theater troupe to try and find something that is truly "her" and not just an attempt at recreating her dead sister. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. It's good to have a character like Maki for representation, someone who is so completely asexual/aromantic that there is no mistaking it.

Nice melodramatic teenage angst, like: the very first person I said "I love you" to didn't love me back so now there is no chance of me ever having love in my life, you know, EVER, even over the next 60+ years. Without spoilers though for some really wonderful scenes, I do want to highlight some of their dialogue. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others.I started reading this coz the anime left things at a very awkward stage and I'm so glad I did because the way the story progressed is better than what I expected. Just like with gender, where there is fluidity between and outside of the Male/Female binary, I think there can be fluidity between and around asexual and sexual and aromantic and romantic feelings. Un po’ sottotono rispetto ai precedenti due ma penso sia normale visto che ci stiamo avvicinando alla conclusione (il numero 8 sarà l’ultimo). At first, Touko doesn’t respond, but the next time they are together she asks Sayaka about her feelings. For anyone that’s looking for a good romance comic that defies expectations and is relatively chaste, Bloom Into You is a good choice.
