If ghosts, creepy dolls, and a gothic setting is your thing then I think you'll be pleased to pick this one up.

I raced through the book as Sophie went to visit her Uncle and cousins in Scotland at the creepy schoolhouse. I literally devoured it in a day because whenever I picked it up, I couldn't bear to put it down and if I did I kept thinking about it which lead to me picking it straight up again. However things aren't as it seems when she arrives, there Cameron who is always in a mood and who had has been burnt hands, little Lillias who has a major fear of bones and then Piper who seems too good to be true. Rebecca, finally too injured to move, was left with her frozen Charlotte doll to freeze to death just like Charlotte in the story. It starts with Sophie and her friend Jay mucking around with a Ouija board app which certainly has consequences. So determined, in fact, that she recklessly leaps into action every single time a creepy noise or sensation occurs. A 17-year-old girl wakes up in a ditch, disoriented and with no memory of who she is or what happened. This book has everything, ouija boards, creepy dolls, ghosts, murder and an old house with a disturbing past. The premise of this book genuinely terrified me; especially since I was reading at night and it was so satisfying.

I love the title Frozen Charlotte it is true as it mentioned those freaky dolls over and over and I could barely sleep when I finished it with those dolls and their diabolical ideas which creeped me out. Now "Frozen Charlotte Dolls" is all what I google about, it turns out you can find a lot of creepy stories and articles about these dolls, no joke, I found it super interesting. These dolls are no bigger than a matchbox, but have hauntingly painted faces and were supposedly invloved in the death of one of the girls at the school.Gothic, eerie atmosphere, a secluded school building that now houses a family, an eccentric family where accidents and death seem to hover over them like shadows, whispers in the night, giggles that cause a fright, and so many Frozen Charlottes one could lose count. And Lilias seemed like she was just there as a plot point, someone to move the story along when it came to a halt. A fantastic read that I thoroughly enjoyed, and I would definitely recommend this to all readers looking for a good scare and a murder mystery!

I kept pausing to read certain sentences out to my boyfriend because I couldn’t believe how much they affected me.I love books that really get to you to the point where you actually end up looking over your shoulder and losing sleep over them. Which, unfortunately for me, I am two years below this age restriction that I set for later readers of this book. So creepy and amazing […] I loved it […] You’ll never look at small china dolls in the same way ever again. The prologue was incredibly gripping, but because it was set in the past, being thrown right into the present story after it was a little bit disconcerting. Helpful hint for frozencharlotte12: My wife used to read the real scary books in the bathtub (fully clothed) because then nothing could sneak up behind her.
