About this deal

I demoed some R100's and 300's and liked them, but didn't fall in love with them. I started to do some research and saw SVS do speakers now, as well as subs. I had a 20-39 when I lived in the US and that was amazing so I decided to upgrade the bass on my system and see if the MS speakers worked better with music with a big sub to take the strain. I ended up buying a SVS SB13 Ultra as the subs in the MS500's were good but not that good. I bought an ex demo one from Frank Harvey the other week and WOW, what an amazing piece of equipment! The fit and finish was excellent too. It made a difference to the MS500's but the maple finish of them didnt fit the new sub so that was the push (along with a green light from the powers that be!) to make a change! Every design element of the SVS Ultra Bookshelf speakers was scrutinized to achieve cost-no-object audio performance and build quality to create a groundbreaking bookshelf loudspeaker. Countless design innovations and world-class build materials result in reference sound quality and stunning dynamics normally reserved for the world’s most expensive speakers. All SVS speakers, regardless of price or form factor, are crafted in the same painstaking fashion. Call it a marriage of exacting science and a passionate expression of technique and love of great sound. Before a model is ever constructed, drivers and cabinets are theoretically designed by our acoustic engineers using the most sophisticated computer-aided design (CAD) processes available. Then prototypes are carefully measured and optimized in an anechoic environment to achieve pitch-perfect frequency response. After the ideal theoretical frequency response is attained, exhaustive listening and measurement is done in listening rooms calibrated to closely resemble typical home-like room environments. The SVS Ultra Bookshelf speakers are the rare speaker design that deliver effortless full-range sound and an expansive soundstage with pitch-perfect accuracy and pinpoint imaging. A true reference quality speaker, critics and music lovers celebrate the absolute transparency while home theater speaker fans laud the room-energizing dynamics and palpable bass output. It’s an amazingly balanced speaker that radiates acoustic power while rendering the finest details with precision and refinement.

High-current 4-layer copper voice coil winding minimizes distortion and power compression, while providing effective heat dissipation and tuned magnetics for accuracy at high excursion Supports SA‑CD, DVD‑Audio, DTS‑HD Master Audio™, Dolby TrueHD™, and other high definition audio standards When designing the biggest and most formidable driver ever used in an SVS subwoofer, it was of utmost importance to meet or exceed the same supreme standards of control and accuracy as every other subwoofer SVS manufactures. One huge advancement that allows the SB16-Ultra to handle the crushing force of a 16-inch driver is the 8-inch edge wound voice coil, the largest ever deployed in a consumer subwoofer. This innovation ensures ultra-low distortion, efficient heat dissipation, exceptional linearity and nearly zero power compression. By nature, larger drivers are more difficult to control, but the unprecedented voice coil design ensures accuracy in frequency response and speed in transients without ever sounding boomy.

Australia’s Hi-Fi Retailer of the Year in 2021 and 2022, and hailed as Queensland’s Best Hi-Fi Retailer. Not just Wide Soundstage: The speaker creates a wide and precise soundstage, bringing you closer to an authentic cinematic audio experience.

I have already tried the bookshelf option with the SB-13Ultra, it just doesn't work. What works best is the BP10's flying solo with no sub, more often than not the SB-13Ultra just sits there looking heavy. Which is why the Triton Seven and SVS Ultra Tower caught my attention, full-range speakers without powered built-in subs. is there something wrong with your BP10s? Why do you feel the need to replace them? That would be my first question, next, if you already have a sub in the SB-13 Ultra (bitchin' by the way), why invest more into towers? Why not the Ultra Bookshelf speakers or the like? With a sub as good as the SB-13 Ultra mated to towers, you're either going to have to lose the tower's low end (money wasted) or some of the sub's performance (also money wasted). Just my opinion of course. A three-way crossover design is imperative for a truly stand-out center channel. The Ultra Center speaker features a unique SVS SoundMatch three-way crossover with precisely tuned crossover frequencies and slopes that result in a smooth off-axis response, outstanding phase coherency and a stable, robust soundstage. Premium-grade capacitors, air-core inductors and other high end components ensure pristine signal transmission and utter neutrality. Performance Driven Cabinet Design and Geometry Stereo RCA input and output with ultra-wide input voltage for consumer and professional audio applications Aluminum Dome Tweeter: The 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter delivers clear and detailed high frequencies, enhancing your overall auditory experience.

Before construction, drivers and cabinets are designed theoretically by acoustic engineers via complex CAD processes after which prototypes are meticulously measured and optimised in an anechoic environment to obtain pitch- perfect frequency response. Exhaustive listening and measurement is undertaken in rooms calibrated to mirror conventional home environments. The resultant speaker measures well with almost-perfect frequency response but is also optimised to sound incredible on a perceptible level with real music and cinematic content. Innovative Crossover SoundMatch 3-Way Crossover: Ensures seamless blending and perfect phase coherency among all drivers for a well-balanced and clear sound. Would I be a party pooper to point out that the sensitivity measure was with 2.83 volts which is 2 watts at 4 ohms? To be with you at every step. Need an expert opinion? The experts at Dreamedia AV are your best choice for consultations and advice!Audiophiles, home theatre enthusiasts and reviewers all revere SVS products for delivering exhilarating audio performances on par with the most exceptional speakers and subwoofers in the world. They put all their effort into appearance and standing waves, but forgot about diffraction. Placing the tweeter in a waveguide would have really helped it blend with the dual 6.5" woofers. Aluminum custom low-profile cone dustcap provides excellent stiffness, lightweight moving mass, and optimized thermal conduction well i wanna know BTW the Aperion Grand Verus and this Ultra towers, what have better sound quality overall? ultra are better for movies compared with the aperion or for music? the High end it's better with the aperion or with the ultras? SVS is an American audio company known mainly for its subwoofers, one of which I recently had the pleasure of reviewing. What is not mentioned in my review is the fact that I was so enamored with the sub's performance that I ended up buying it. As you'll soon find out, I had a similar experience with SVS's Ultra Bookshelf speaker.
