About this deal

Surrounded by the gentle rolling countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds, this Bridlington cottage makes a good base to explore the area. The surrounding area offers many opportunities for beach and walks away from the crowds. This property is an oasis and haven - amidst the current times this allowed a real holiday to be had. Highly recommended! For Scotland, 2011 data is shown (update coming soon, the Scottish census was delayed by a year unlike the rest of the UK).

Owners friendly nothing was too much trouble nice welcome from dogs too we enjoyed the eggs and Welsh cakes thank you for a lovely holiday The gardens outside the cottage are absolutely beautiful, with a very large area at the bottom where you can play games, we took our 4yr old grandson who loved playing there. Waggoners' Walk was a daily radio soap opera, set in the fictional cul-de-sac of Waggoners' Walk and its environs in Hampstead, north London. It was broadcast daily on BBC Radio 2 from 1969 to 1980, in the form of 15-minute episodes on weekday afternoons with a repeat the following weekday morning. The programme came to a sudden end in May 1980 as part of a number of economies made by the BBC. History This is a list of some of the main characters that appeared over the 11-year run. In some cases more than one actor played the part. [22] [23] [24] [25]

A really comfortable and cosy cottage, situated in peaceful and relaxing grounds, it is highly recommended. A perfect base from which to explore the surrounding area. As part of a series of cost-cutting initiatives by the BBC in 1980, Waggoners' Walk came to an abrupt end on 30 May 1980 [13] [14] with a cliffhanger ending in which George Underdown proposes marriage to Sophie Richmond and assures her that "you have all the time in the world" before the closing theme comes in. [15] The Corporation received more than 1,000 letters of protest [16] about the ending of the programme. It rejected a request from Capital Radio to take it over. The facilities were perfect for a cosy weekend in, the views were fabulous and the family who run the cottage are super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend for a weekend away

The cottage is amazing, beautiful location, friendly greetings by the owner, so happy I booked here." The owners were extremely helpful and friendly and have furnished and equipped the cottage to a very high standard. The beds and seating are very comfortable. There is lots to see and do in the area without having to travel very far, including the amazing Bempton Cliffs RSPB reserve. We didn’t manage to fit everything we wanted to do into the week so are hoping to stay again later in the year. The Cairngorms National Park extends over the UK's largest mountain range, with heather-clad moors and ancient pine forests. It links the former shipbuilding city, Glasgow, with Inverness, the cultural capital of the Scottish Highlands. The cottage had ample kitchen supplies and bedding. The farm itself offers great views and walks and is located close to local tourist sights such as Powis castle.

Only thing that let it down for us, due to the hot weather, there was quite a few wasps and flies that got in the cottage, which was annoying. The owners tried to get rid of them, but that was a temporary measure until the cottage was empty for 24 hours Can’t thank Mrs Tilsley enough, she was a lovely host and gave us some beautiful blue fresh eggs, which were so tasty." An attachment to BBC Radio Drama in 1973 led to a permanent post for Plowright the following year as executive producer for the Radio 2 serial, Waggoners' Walk.

The cottage and hot tub were both clean and the host was close by so if any issues arose we were able to speak with her immediately, for example we had a small issue with wasps in the upstairs bathroom that got sorted within a day of two of our stay."A Sunday-afternoon omnibus edition was added to the schedule in January 1980, though heard only on Radio 2's medium wave transmitters. The cottage is beautiful, spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable, bathroom superb with wonderful fluffy white towels, the beds were so comfortable with beautiful good quality white Cotton bedding. A lot of care, and good taste is evident in this cottage. The owners are extremely helpful and approachable, nothing is to much trouble for them. The view is outstanding and the cottage had everything we needed for a chilled and comfortable weekend. The beds were comfortable and the hot tub was such a treat! The cottage was really cosy and the Owner was fantastic. Will definitely be returning.

About the location

Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. We had a lovely week exploring the surrounding countryside, beaches and villages. Waggoner's Cottage is very well situated, yet, it's so quiet and peaceful! The owners are very friendly and helpful. Greeted on arrival by one of the owners we were made to feel very welcome and the cottage and hot tub have the most amazing views.
